Asahi Shimbun reported on November 25th that Masahiro Osawa, a special associate professor at the University of Tokyo graduate school, recently posted on his personal social platform that "(the company he runs) does not hire Chinese people" and "will screen out Chinese materials." Such statements involving discrimination have attracted widespread criticism from Japanese netizens. The University of Tokyo issued an apology statement on its official website on the 24th , saying that Osawa was a "short-term worker", and his remarks had nothing to do with the school.
